Day 1 — Land, Settle, Ubud Sunset
Land at DPS, clear visa on arrival (see the walkthrough below), grab your prebooked transfer to Ubud (~90 min). Check in, rent your scooter from the guesthouse — they almost always know someone reliable.
Evening
- Walk the Campuhan Ridge at golden hour — free, and the best intro to Bali you can get.
- Dinner at a family warung: nasi campur + juice for under ₹250.
Day 2 — Waterfalls & Temples
Start at 7am to beat both heat and crowds. Route: Tegalalang rice terraces → Tirta Empul water temple → Tibumana waterfall. All three are an easy scooter loop from Ubud.
Day 3 — Uluwatu & Beaches
Check out, ride or transfer south to Uluwatu (~2 hrs). Beach-hop Padang Padang and Bingin, then end at Uluwatu Temple for the clifftop Kecak fire dance at sunset — book the ticket on arrival at the temple.
Visa on Arrival — What Actually Happens
For Indian passport holders, Bali offers visa on arrival. The counter process took us about 25 minutes: pay the fee (card accepted), get the sticker, join the immigration queue. Carry a return ticket confirmation on your phone — we were asked for it. Rules and fees change, so verify on the official Indonesian immigration site the week before you fly.
