My Wings My Way ("we", "us", "our") is a travel blog operated from India by Arunkumar, founder of Infomatics Business Intelligence. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use mywingsmyway.in, why we collect it, and what control you have over it.
Short version: we collect as little as possible, we don't sell your data to anyone, and you can have it deleted by sending us one email.
1. What we collect
Information you give us
- Newsletter signup — your email address, and nothing else.
- Contact form — your name, email address, and the content of your message.
- Comments and collaboration enquiries — whatever you choose to include, such as your name, brand, or social handles.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics data — pages visited, time on page, approximate location (country/city level), device type, browser, and the site or search that referred you. This is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.
- Server logs — standard technical records, including IP address, kept briefly for security and troubleshooting.
We do not collect passport numbers, payment card details, government ID, or any of the sensitive travel documents discussed in our visa guides. Those guides are informational only — never send us copies of your documents.

We will never use your email to send you anything you didn't sign up for, and we will never pass it to a third party for their own marketing.
3. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies:
- Essential cookies keep the site functioning. These can't be switched off.
- Analytics cookies tell us how the site is being used, in aggregate.
- Affiliate cookies may be set by partners when you click an affiliate link, so they can credit us for a referral.
You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings. The site will still work, though some things may be less convenient.
4. Affiliate links and sponsorships
Some posts contain affiliate links — typically to booking platforms, travel insurance, forex cards, or eSIM providers. If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Sponsored posts and gifted stays are always labelled as such at the top of the article.
Our rule: a commission never buys a recommendation. If we wouldn't book it ourselves, it doesn't go in the guide — and if a recommendation stops being true, the post gets updated or pulled. See Work With Us for the full standard we hold partners to.
5. Who else touches your data
We rely on a few standard service providers to run the site — a web host, an email newsletter platform, and an analytics provider. They process data only on our instructions. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone, for any price.
Some of these providers may store data on servers outside India. Where that happens, we rely on their standard contractual protections.
6. How long we keep it
- Newsletter emails — until you unsubscribe, then deleted.
- Contact form messages — up to 24 months, so we can pick up a conversation where it left off.
- Analytics — retained in aggregate; individual records expire automatically.
7. Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 — and under the GDPR if you're reading from the EU/UK — you can ask us to:
- Tell you what data we hold about you
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete your data entirely
- Withdraw consent for the newsletter (every email has a one-click unsubscribe link)
- Complain to the relevant data protection authority if you think we've mishandled something
To exercise any of these, email info@mywingsmyway.in. We'll respond within 30 days. There's no form and no fee.
8. Children
This site is not directed at children under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, email us and we'll delete it.
9. Security
The site is served over HTTPS and we keep access to our accounts limited and password-protected. No website can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to protect what little data we hold — and the best protection is that we hold so little of it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will also be mentioned in the newsletter.
